Riyo Hanggoro Prasetyo is an esteemed Intellectual Property (IP) and Entertainment Lawyer. His expertise encompasses copyright, trademark, contract, multimedia law, music publishing, entertainment law, and IP litigation.

Outside his professional sphere, Riyo serves as a Permanent Lecturer and previously led the Business Law Program at Podomoro University, Jakarta. Currently, he’s pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Pelita Harapan University, Jakarta, delving into the Mechanical Rights in the Indonesian Music Industry amid the Digital Disruption Era.

Before launching RHP Law, Riyo enhanced his expertise with several renowned multinational law firms in Jakarta. His roles have varied from being a Partner at Panji Prasetyo & Partners, a Senior Associate at firms such as Suryomurcito & Co (Rouse) and HHP Law Firm (member firm of Baker & McKenzie), to working at Lubis, Santosa & Maulana Law Offices. He also had the privilege of a two- month secondment at Rouse Legal’s Vietnam Offices during his tenure with Rouse.

With over two decades of experience in IP practices, Entertainment, and Litigation, Riyo became an Advocate with the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) in 2008. He achieved his IP Attorney License in 2012 and was admitted as a Receiver and Administrator (Bankruptcy) by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in 2020. Additionally, Riyo has also been certified as a Certified Professional Contract Drafter (CPCD) by the National Professional Certification Board in 2023.

Within the Indonesian IP community, Riyo is celebrated as a leading IP litigator with more than 20 years of dedication to IP practice and litigation. He has skillfully managed over 50 prominent IP litigation and enforcement cases, many involving multinational corporations. In commercial litigation, he boasts a remarkable record of victories and continues to advocate for prominent clients in several high-profile cases.
